Online Class Policies

For Classes with Speak Confident English

By signing up and providing payments for classes, the client agrees to these Online Class Policies.

TRIAL LESSON

A trial lesson is $8.00 and lasts 30 minutes. During the trial lesson, the parties will discuss the client’s needs and goals for improving English. The teacher will also assess client’s current level or abilities in English. The client is under absolutely no obligation to take any more lessons after the trial lesson. A full refund will be given if no time can be agreed upon.

 

PAYMENT AND CANCELLATIONS

Full payments must be made before the start of the lesson. There are no exceptions. Lesson dates and times must be agreed by both parties before payment is sent. An invoice will be sent and clients can pay by PayPal or credit card. A cancellation of a lesson, for whatever reason, will receive a full refund; however, a cancellation must be made more than 24 hours before the agreed start time of the class. If a cancellation is made in less than 24 hours before the start of the class no refunds will be available.

 

TIME CHANGES

If you want to change the time of any class 24-hour notice must be given. Availability varies from week to week so flexibility will be required to agree on a new date and time. If a time cannot be found within the same week, the payment for the rescheduled class will be either used for the next week or a refund will be given. If you want to change the class less than 24 hours before the class start time, this depends on the tutor’s flexibility. If no time slot can be found, a refund can’t be given.

 

LATE ARRIVAL OR NO SHOW

If the client will be late to class, the client must inform the teacher as soon as possible by email with an estimated time of arrival. If the class starts late due to a change in the client’s schedule, it is up to the availability of the teacher to extend the class time for the full 60 minutes; it is not guaranteed. If the client does not show up for the class within the first 15 minutes of the start time and does not provide the teacher with a late arrival notice, the teacher will cancel the class after 15 minutes; no refund will be given.

 

BLOCKS OF LESSONS

If a block of 5 lessons is booked at one time, these lessons must be scheduled and taken within a 6-week period. If a block of 10 lessons is booked at one time, they must be scheduled and taken within a 12-week period (minus holidays, vacation times, or sick days that the teacher takes). **Discounted prices for are only applied when 5 or more classes are purchased at one time.**

 

HOLIDAYS, VACATION AND SICK DAYS – TEACHER

Holidays and vacations will be known in advance. If, for whatever reason, the teacher is not able to make the lesson, the payment sent may be used to schedule a future class. If you would prefer a refund will be given.

 

TECHNOLOGY PROBLEMS

In order for the online class to be successful, the client must have access to the internet, speakers, and a microphone. A webcam is optional if the client would like to participate with video.

The client should test the computer settings to make sure the internet, speakers, and microphone are working before the start of the class. This will ensure a timely and successful class.

Refunds will not be given if the client or client’s computer has technology problems. If the class starts late due to client’s technology problems, it is up to the availability of the teacher to extend the class time for the full 60 minutes; it is not guaranteed.
