How It Works
The CWC
Member Experience
We learn together
As a new member, you'll join our community in our progress-focused learning cycle.
The New Member Experience
When you join as a New Member, you’ll immediately start learning with us.
You’ll also have access to our New Member Welcome Steps. Following these steps will make you familiar with the community quickly.
The first live event every new member joins is our New Member Welcome. This is an important step to unlock access to our practice activities and live workshops.
We ask every New Member to complete this step so we can verify their identity. We are proud of how safe and supportive our community is. This important new member step helps us protect all our members, maintaining a safe community for English-speaking practice.
After you join a New Member Welcome event, you’ll immediately unlock our practice and workshop opportunities.

01 Learn
Every month, we provide study materials so you don’t need to worry about what to study. We solve that problem for you with downloadable study materials — our CWC Roadmaps.
Every Roadmap…
- introduces new vocabulary
- reviews related grammar or pronunciation topics
- provides conversational questions for practice
- includes activities for further learning
Our CWC Roadmap topics relate to the monthly theme. For example, if the monthly theme is Personal Development, a Roadmap might focus on How to Find Time for Self-Care or Find a Balance Between Work and Family Life.
02 Practice
After you review our monthly study materials, it’s time to think about practice. And if you’re not sure how to practice, we solved that question.
With every new CWC Roadmap, we share new practice activities for…
- vocabulary
- grammar/pronunciation
- speaking skills
With each CWC Roadmap, you have multiple opportunities to practice. That means you get the repetition you need to learn, remember, and gain confidence. These activities also provide support for our live speaking events.

03 Speak
Speaking practice is your direct pathway to English confidence and fluency.
That’s why we offer multiple opportunities to get real speaking practice inside the Confident Women Community. Our live speaking events are offered at a variety of times to accommodate the time zones and work schedules of members around the world.
After you join your first live event as a new member — the New Member Welcome — you can join as many live events as you want. You can choose what is best for you based on your availability and preference.
And if there is a workshop you cannot attend, we do record them all so you’re able to watch the replays at any time.
04 Make Progress
Like every skill, the learning process includes big jumps forward and periods of plateau.
What this means is sometimes we don’t feel like we’re making progress, even though we’re trying. That’s why documenting progress — with evidence — is so important.
Every month, we provide a Progress Journal so you can document exactly what you’re learning. This becomes your record of progress. You can review these journals at any time for those exciting moments of recognizing the progress you’ve made.
You’ll also be able to join live Progress Check-In events with Annemarie to discuss your learning process, including your highs and lows.
